Heather's journey as a tattoo artist began in Vietnam. Kiwi-born, she received her training there under the guidance of an experienced mentor, dedicating two years to honing her craft. Now, seven years into her career, she has returned to her hometown of Christchurch to further develop her skills and create unique, detailed, and intricate tattoos for her clients. As an experienced artist, Heather has an eye for detail and a remarkable talent for crafting one-of-a-kind pieces. Sam is in her 4th year of tattooing - with a background in fine art that she’s even won a number of awards for! Sam is passionate about surrealism, micro realism, oil painting style, engraving traditional art into skin and much much more! She can do an incredibly versatile range of tattoos from fine-line to thick and has great experience working with colours as well. Sam is from our wonderful city of Otautahi and is based here with her lovely little kitties whom she loves dearly. Olivia brings a unique blend of creativity and skill to our studio, specialising in a variety of styles including black and grey illustrative, botanical, script, colour, traditional, neo-traditional, American traditional, fineline floral pieces, and animal tattoos.

Olivia started her apprenticeship six years ago in Portland, Oregon, USA, and has been tattooing full-time for four years. She moved to New Zealand this year from the States. The wonderful Hannah one of the the warm faces you will find behind the desk when you come into Haven. Hannah comes from a background of all sorts of client facing roles and is the perfect fit to support our day to day operations and keep our clients looked after! She was originally a client before becoming a part of the family at Haven (which seems to be a trend in our hiring process!) and is covered all over in awesome tattoos. Hannah is super bubbly and loves a chat - in her spare time she enjoys spending time with friends, the gym, is a mum and of course getting tattoos! We love having Hannah's beautiful energy at Haven - she will be sure to say hi when she sees you next!

Sami is a dedicated tattoo apprentice at Haven, working behind the scenes in reception, supporting our artists and now taking her own clients as well! Sami is well into her apprenticeship these days working under Sam as her mentor. She loves custom pieces and flash and can chat to you about your next piece! Her passion for art and body modifications began in childhood, drawing with her dad and accompanying him to get his tattoos.​ In her spare time, Sami enjoys various arts and crafts, spending time with their cat, and watching true crime and horror shows and films.Sami is always looking forward to seeing everyone's lovely faces in the studio and having a chat!

Specialising in a wide spectrum of styles, from black work to fine line tattoos, Shea particularly excels in working with bold lines, black/dot work, line work, and stipple shading. If you've been with us from the beginning, you'll surely recognize the lovely Louise! With her friendly and welcoming personality, Louise provides a variety of piercing services for our clients. Whether you're interested in a classic earlobe piercing or something more adventurous, she's the go-to expert. While Louise initially served as our manager, these days, she dedicates her time to face and body piercings, as well as jewelry sales. At the beginning - you would often find Scarlett diligently working behind the scenes, assisting throughout the shop, occasionally managing reception, and always asking all the right questions to your favourite artists. But now, 1.5 years of dedicated learning,

Scarlett has stepped up as a Junior Artist. She's already built a loyal clientele, with people coming back for more! We are immensely proud to have her in the studio and cherish the opportunity to witness her remarkable growth. Meet our amazingly talented piercer Pagan, we're stoked to have her as a part of the Haven family!

Pagan is  passionate about all things piercing, spooky stuff, and gardening.

She can’t live without her cat, who’s basically her human child. Pagan thinks she drinks too many energy drinks and you'll see her always wearing black. Pagan has been a a piercer since 2021, and it’s something she dreamt of doing since she was a kid.

Pagan grew up in a super alternative family with an artistic dad, always surrounded by piercings, tattoos, and all things creativity!

Jeremy is a CHCH born and based apprentice tattooist specialising in an amalgamation of Trad, anime and custom illustrative colour work. More commonly known by his tattoo name ‘The Bastard’, this artist presents a playful take on anarchism and punk, referencing nostalgic objects from the 90s, and the rockabilly and victorian eras. He enjoys playing with contrasting themes from the dark and disturbing, to the cute and whimsical. With a background in charcoal/surrealism, and a life-long passion for manga and anime, Jeremy’s practice has been heavily inspired to metamorphosize characters and objects in to stylised versions of reality. Check out his instagram here!

Tyler has been tattooing since 2018, specializing in anime and neo-Japanese styles. He is known for his vibrant use of color and large, flowing designs. Passionate about all things nerdy, from video games and anime to trading card games and manga, he loves discussing his interests with his awesome clients.

He also enjoys American traditional and Japanese traditional styles, as well as surrealism. Trained in realism by masters, he applies the knowledge he has gained to his tattoo designs and traditional and digital art paintings.

Missy is a highly talented and creative tattoo artist, driven by a passion for crafting distinctive and personalised tattoos for her clients. Erika has been tattooing since 2016! Since then she has honed her craft in Argentina and spent a year tattooing in Paraguay. We’re thrilled to welcome Erika as she brings her passion and creativity to New Zealand and Haven Tattoo! Erika specialises in bold lines and full-colour designs, with a particular love for botanical themes. However, she’s highly versatile and can adapt to a variety of styles to bring your vision to life. With a degree in Fine Art & Illustration, Kylie has been creating tattoos since late 2016. Her work is deeply inspired by nature, dark art, and playful, nerdy themes. Specializing in an illustrative, whimsical, surreal, and colorful style, she is always open to exploring a wide range of designs. Making unique designs is her passion, and she prides herself on making each session a beautiful exchange of energy and comfort. Holly has jumped across the pond from Aus to join the management on the front desk of Haven! With a decade of experience in fine arts industries back in Aus, Holly is here to make your tattoo dreams become a reality by matching you up with the tattoo artist at Haven that best suits you. Holly will be answering when you call, making you cups of tea when you’re in-shop and hyping you up when you’re getting inked! If you have any questions or general unsureness regarding your tattoo dreams, Holly is here to talk you through and help you find the magnificent body art that best represents you.

Fey is an Ōtautahi local and new addition to the incredible admin team you’ll find at Haven! With over 10 years of experience working in the retail space, Fey loves hearing all of your tattoo ideas, big or small! They love learning stories behind tattoos, and matching you with an artist who can bring your ideas to life. You’ll find them behind the desk, answering the phone, and helping you have the best experience during your session. 

​In their spare time you’ll find Fey drawing up their own art, hand-making zines and prints, and hanging out with their dog.

Mon is our superstar working remotely to handle all things bookings! She started out as a cosmetic tattoo artist, but these days, she's working remotely managing bookings while exploring the world. She's been with Haven since its' early days, though she took a few years to travel and soak in new experiences.

Wellness, holistic living, and creativity are Mon's passions, and she tries to bring that energy into everything she does. Mon is all about getting outside, connecting with nature, and staying active. Mon is social, bubbly, and always down to make meaningful connections!

Jem has recently joined the Haven reception team and we're so excited to have her as a part of Haven!

Jem is from Christchurch and comes from a retail management background with over 10 years experience. She's a qualified nail technician working part time at her small business Hellbound Nails, check it out!

When Jem is not busy slaying nails she enjoys spending time with her cat, hanging out with friends and watching trashy tv shows. Jem loves helping others and she's excited to ensure clients have the best experience possible at Haven!

Shelby works behind the scenes at Haven, handling bookings!

Originally from Canada, Shelby has a background in fashion design and creative arts. Now based in Bali, Indonesia, she works remotely, connecting with clients and managing the booking side of things at Haven.​

Beyond Haven, Shelby spends her days happily teaching yoga. She’s passionate about mindful, healthy living and a balanced lifestyle. She loves getting to know you virtually through your design ideas — if you ever find yourself in Bali, go say hi in a yoga class!

Ahna joined the Haven team in late 2024 after moving to Christchurch from Portland, US. She's stoked to make Christchurch her new home and is overjoyed with the family she has found in the Haven team.​ 

With a long background in hospitality, Ahna wants every client who walks through the door to feel welcomed, safe, and maybe even enjoy a good cup of coffee if they need it. She hopes to be a friendly face behind the front desk or a warm voice over the phone, listening to your stories and matching you with the perfect artist to bring your tattoo dreams to life. Ahna loves finding joy in life’s little moments, and hopes to sprinkle a bit of positivity into everyone’s day.
